Sharol R. Stewart – WatercolorsSharol R. Stewart grew up in Middletown, CT. She has regained her love of watercolor painting after many years of other creative endeavors. Throughout her early years as a young woman, she demonstrated a passion for the arts by engaging in painting, ceramics, crewel embroidery, sewing Past Patterns, and making jewelry with Antique Buttons. Articles have appeared in the New York Times, Victorian Magazine, Norwich Bulletin, and The New London Day. Beach, SC, and Ralph Acosta at Stone Eagle Studio in Stonington, CT. She has exhibited at the Marshview Gallery in Old Saybrook.
Currently Sharol is painting with the Shoreline Watercolor Workshop in Old Lyme under the guidance of Elin Larson. Sharol has exhibited and sold paintings at galleries in Chester, Old Lyme, Mystic and Old Saybrook, CT. Gallery shows include the Valentine H. Zahn Community Gallery at Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Center in Westbrook and Gallery at Essex Meadows in Essex, CT. She currently has paintings on exhibit at the Town Wood Gallery, Lymes Senior Center, 26 Town Woods Road, Old Lyme, CT. Sharol enjoys painting florals, seascapes, imaginary creations and other subjects. One of her favorite painting techniques is called "wet on wet". Sharol's zest for life shines in her paintings.
